Development of a Method for the Strength Assessment of Short-Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Components
Within the scope of the development project, a method is to be developed which allows a reliable and efficient strength assessment of components made of short-fiber-reinforced plastics.
In contrast to unidirectionally reinforced fiber composite components, injection molded plastic components made of short-fiber-reinforced plastics have a local fiber orientation distribution. A method for the strength assessment of such plastic components must take this into account. A software is being developed which allows a strength assessment with consideration of the local fiber orientation distribution.
